Note: I am currently offering in-person appointments for people who are fully vaccinated, as well as telehealth video visits for anyone who prefers that.
There are lots of good reasons to seek counseling. Maybe you need some relief from anxiety or depression, or have suffered a trauma that’s getting in your way. Maybe you’re struggling with self-esteem. Maybe you want your life to be more fulfilling, or want greater access to your own creativity. Or maybe you simply want to know yourself better, and conduct your life and relationships in a richer, more authentic way. We live in a world that’s complicated and stressful, and it often isn’t easy to navigate.
But there are lots of reasons to be hopeful, too. The challenges that we face can, if handled well, spur us on to greater growth, happiness, and peace of mind. Sometimes we need someone in our corner to help us handle these challenges. A good counseling relationship can help us understand how past experiences may be affecting us in the present, get some perspective and relief from our troubles, and help us identify and build on what is good, strong, and true about us.
My goal as a therapist is to help build that kind of safe, caring, and ultimately healing therapeutic relationship, as a support toward your meeting your life’s goals. I have specialized training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and I use a variety of techniques that are tailored to the specific needs of each person. My approach is calm and caring, and I have a sense of humor.
I believe that all people – and this includes you – have the potential to live happier, more creative, and more meaningful lives. If this seems like something that is interesting to you, I would welcome the opportunity to talk with you.
I’d like to help you to understand yourself better and be kinder to yourself, so you can lead the fullest, happiest, most authentic life you can!
